Flanagan Syrah Bennett Valley 2014 750ML
$75.00

VINEYARD

The 2014 Flanagan Syrah is a compelling wine with a racy, spicy Rhone character. The wine is produced from Bennett Valley and is grown on the steep hillsides of Bennett Mountain. Many people feel that the wine is reminiscent of the top wines from the great Hermitage region in the Rhone Valley.

PRODUCTION NOTES

This is our 9th vintage of Syrah from Bennett Valley. The wine spent 14 months in French oak and we used 24% new barrels. With perfect varietal character coupled with great balance this is a profound example of what new world Syrah can be. This is a wine to enjoy for the next 15 years.

TASTING NOTES

Our 2014 Syrah displays classic Rhone aromatics of white pepper, bacon fat, and savory herbs. The palate has lush layers of blue and black fruits balanced with a bright acidity that elevates the fruit profile. This is a wine that will handle food very well. Top pairings would be richer dishes like lamb or cassoulet. It also handles spicy foods better than Bordeaux varieties do. We love pairing our Syrah with Indian food.
